Weight Loss – A Combination of Diet and Exercise

Long-term and effective weight loss takes serious dedication, balanced diet, and exercise. To lose weight it is important that you know of your body type, calorie intake and the amount that you want to lose. There are many ways by which you can lose weight but the prime factors are diet and exercise. A balanced diet is a vital factor because when you consume all sources of nutrients, weight loss is faster and better. Food rich in proteins, vitamins, minerals, fats, carbohydrates, fiber are all important for effective weight loss. The body constantly needs all forms of nutrients which come from different sources of food.

Along with vegetables, legumes, fish, meat, dairy products, one should also have fruits, dry fruits, juices, etc. You have to melt your body fat with protein-rich food which boosts your metabolism by combining some physical activities such as aerobics or jogging. The best thing that you need to start with is by increasing your water intake as it flushes out toxins from the body. Next is to cut down your carbohydrates intake as they are tough to burn and does not provide much energy to your body. Seafood intake can be increased as they provide energy and no fat hence it is a good source of protein.

In addition to taking care of the diet, you need to include some physical activities like brisk walking, jogging, skipping, yoga. The contribution of a balanced diet and physical activity to weight loss is in a ratio of 80:20. Until and unless the physical activity is included, weight loss will remain a tough goal to achieve. Gradually increase the activities and you will see the changes in your body, mood, and day-to-day chores. Weight loss and weight management are important as they affect your entire system be it the nervous system, mood, or other parts of the body. Physical activity and exercise act as a catalyst for burning fat which leads to weight loss.
